Sharday and Josh
Already separated, former model Sharday decided to sign up herself and partner Josh for The Last Resort.
“We were the ideal candidates,” the 27-year-old says, adding their relationship turned sour when she fell pregnant two-and-a-half years ago with daughter Tyla.
“I told Josh our child wasn’t his,” Sharday reveals. “We had a lot of trust issues, insecurities, the list goes on forever.”
A DNA test later revealed Josh was, in fact, the father. But the security operations manager admits he still struggles with missing out on the first weeks of his daughter’s life.
Sharday lied about the father of her child.
Sarah and Keelan
High school sweethearts Sarah and Keelan may be the youngest couple on the island, but they’re willing to do whatever it takes to make their relationship work.
“We have had a rocky relationship the whole time we’ve been together,” Sarah, 25, says.
“I was always home alone wondering where Keelan was and what he was doing. We were living separate lives.”
Keelan’s partying ways affected his relationship with Sarah.
Lucy and Carl
When personal trainer Carl first laid eyes on Lucy 12 years ago, he knew she was the one.
But when the community events and advertising executive learnt her husband was having an affair with a client, her world came crashing down.
“I resented Carl,” Lucy, 38, says. “I didn’t know how to move forward to fix us. I knew something major had to happen, so I moved out.”
Now, the couple want to repair things for the sake of their children, Carl Junior, seven, Emily-Rose, four, and 16-year-old Kiara, from Lucy’s previous relationship.
Carl had an affair whilst married to Lucy.
Lisa and Dan
From the moment they met, things have been far from easy for Dan and Lisa.
“I was still married and Lisa was separated,” Dan, 35, explains. “I was trying to manage a marriage break-up, new baby and my growing feelings for Lisa, but eventually we got together.”
Lisa says that while the pair, who both have a child from previous partners, went on to have a good relationship, it didn’t last. In 2016, Dan left.
“Things got too hard, and after two months apart, we decided we had a love worth fighting for and got back together,” Lisa, 37, reveals.
Lisa and Dan met while they were married to other people.
Jodie and Stu
Intimacy is an important part of any relationship. But for animal education officer Jodie and husband Stu, there hasn’t been any for a long time.
“Unfortunately, four years into our marriage, when I had just had our first child, Stu sustained an injury and was bedridden for a year,” Jodie, 34, says.
She reveals the incident had a big impact on their relationship.
“I gave up on our marriage a year ago,” she says. “Although we were living in the same house, we were just co-parenting.”
Jodie and Stu have had a sexless marriage.
