Kate, who is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum as she did with her first pregnancy with Prince George, was due to represent the Queen on a two-day trip on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 to mark the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.
Following the announcement last week that Kate and William were expecting their second child, the Palace said the Duchess would make a choice on her official engagements on a “case by case” basis.
There are rumours that William might replace Kate if she is too unwell to travel.
