Tim Robards is one of the buffest Aussie celebs to ever come out of reality television, so it’s no surprise the former Bachelor drew on his fitness prowess to train his wife Anna Heinrich for her appearance on SAS Australia.

Anna, who met Tim back in 2013, just finished shooting the third season of SAS, where she and 17 other celebrities’ were put through their paces by four ex special forces soldiers.

Tim revealed that he helped Anna prepare for the physically and mentally gruelling course, saying it became a “family affair”.

“As much as she then goes off and does it, leading up to that it was such a family affair because I would be training her,” he told Yahoo.

The couple’s one-year-old daughter Elle was in tow for a lot of Anna’s training, which took place during Sydney’s lockdown this year.

“We’d go down to the kid’s park because we need monkey bars so she could practice hanging and swinging, and I’d be chasing Elle around the park while I also train Anna and go back and forth, back and forth.”

Tim also why revealed Anna, 35, decided to take part in one of the most challenging reality shows Australia has to offer.

“There was plenty of questioning whether it was the right thing to do, but I think the main thing for Anna was that she wanted to see what she was capable of,” he said.

“I think being a mother and the challenges of that and the strength that she’s built up, she’s now at a point where she’s like, I want to really see what I’m made of and I want to make my daughter proud.”

In October, the avid fitness lover joked that he has enjoyed “ordering Anna around” during their workouts.

“The training we’ve been able to do together has been an incredibly empowering and belief building journey for Anna by itself, and brought us even closer as a family in lockdown. Winning already,” Tim wrote on Instagram.

“But I won’t miss the blows to the head she’s been delivering in our boxing training.
