The fallout from toothbrush-gate is set to get even messier.

To call it the dinner party from hell would be an understatement – but after it was revealed that Married At First Sight bride Hayley Vernon and groom Michael Goonan betrayed their own spouses and kissed – and also that Hayley’s groom David Cannon allegedly used her toothbrush to clean a ‘dirty’ toilet – all hell broke loose.

Toothbrush-gate has rocked Australia since the details first surfaced.

Now OK! can reveal the horrific toothbrush incident and its fallout could lead to unprecedented legal action for the show.

“He did one of the most repulsive things in the show’s history,” Hayley blasts.

“I’d say it’s bordering on abuse.”

A show insider reveals ‘toothbrush-gate’ could lead to legal action being taken by the 32-year-old finance broker.

“She was understandably completely outraged and threatening behind the scenes to call in the lawyers,” says the insider.

While no papers have been served as yet, the incident also caused the show to shut down in order for producers to deal with both the toothbrush and cheating scandals.

“The whole drama got quite nasty behind the scenes and the cast were forced off set to cool off,” adds the source.

As for Hayley, she says that while she’s of course ‘disgusted’ by the incident, she now wants to move on.

“I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t want it to be the only thing associated with my name,” she tells OK!.

Meanwhile, David, 31, has since admitted he ‘regrets’ the incident.

What a scandal!
