Love Island

Which of the Love Island Australia couples are still together?

They were desperately in love inside the villa, but what about in the real world?

By Kate Wagner

Today, Love Island has reached a new record for the world's shortest reality TV romance with the not-so-shocking but equally dramatic news Tayla Damir has dumped Grant Crapp after he came clean about having a secret girlfriend.

The winning couple only lasted a blink-and-you'll-miss-it two weeks out in the wilderness of the real world.

Opening up about her decision to sensationally dump Grant, Tayla explained he was simply "too young" for her and trust issues ultimately got the better of them.

"Obviously I'm heartbroken, it was a big shock to the system," the reality star told The Fix.

With the first Love Island split causing shock-waves around the nation, all eyes are now on remaining couples.

Indeed, in the $15 million Mallorca villa, everything's heightened — emotions, tensions and boredom.

People declared their undying love to their partners of just a few weeks, planned their future children's names and plotted to move to different cities to live together, but how did it pan out in the real world?

Here, we reveal which of the Love Island Australia couples are still together...

Tayla and Grant: BROKEN UP

It's all over for the poster couple despite their grand plans to use their $50K cash prize to relocate to Sydney.

"[W]e're going to use the money to move to Sydney together," Tayla told Now To Love before their split.

"I've always seen myself moving to Sydney because I have a journalism and broadcasting degree. So for me that's the best place to be. I have a lot of my dad's family in Sydney so it means I'll be closer to them. And Grant likes Sydney too."

Well, that won't be happening anytime soon.

"Obviously I'm heartbroken, it was a big shock to the system," Tayla told The Fix, before confirming she broke up with Grant on Wednesday evening.

Sadly for Tayla, she says Grant finally came clean and revealed he did indeed have a partner called Lucy on the outside.

"He denied it when we were in the house and I just had this gut feeling to follow through with it. Once I was able to access media and read the articles, I told Grant he needed to own up. I finally got the answer that was the truth: he was on there to promote himself and he did have a girlfriend who was running his business while he was inside the Villa."

"I said there was nothing more than I wanted for this to work, and to gain my trust back, but I gave him multiple chances inside the Villa, and obviously once I found out this information as well, the lies just continued the last 10 days. There was no trust being built up with anything. I couldn't be in a relationship with someone I don't trust."

So far, all that Grant has said about the split is that he found out through Instagram.

"This is news to me?" he penned underneath the Love Island's page's post about their split.

The loved up runner-ups are committed to making their long-distance love work and since the show wrapped, they've been pictured together looking cosy in the real world.

When we asked which Love Island couple would be the first to get married and have kids, the consensus was firmly that it would be Eden and Erin — something they agreed with.

"We have been the couple that's been talking about having kids and getting married," Erin told Now To Love.

"We already know we both want two kids. We both want twins - I would love two girls, Eden would want a boy and a girl."

"And we've already talked about marriage and rings, and all that. We've already got baby names and stuff like that picked out - it's all really exciting!"

"Look, we're talking about two years… If you saw how I asked her out, you wait until you see the proposal!" Eden interjected.

Dom and Shelby: STILL TOGETHER

Dom residing in Sydney while Shelby's up north in Toowoomba is definitely a big factor for the couple to take into consideration.

According to Shelby, they just want to see how things go without being watched by an entire nation.

"I think we just want to see how things go," she told NW "I'm not in a position to move because I am finishing my uni degree but that does finish in October."

"We'll keep in contact and see what happens. As much as I loved our amazing dates in Spain, I am looking forward to just going out as normal without any cameras."

Josh and Amelia: STILL TOGETHER

Despite the swirling assertions in the house that Amelia's feelings for Josh weren't legitimate (we're looking at you, Grant) the pair seem to be holding strong.

"I think Josh and Amelia will really last," Tayla dished to Now To Love. "I think at first everyone had their doubts, but Amelia really is such a sweetheart and I see a proper connection between these two and I really think it will last."

Millie and Mark: STILL TOGETHER

In the finale, we learned the pair was still sharing a bed, so something must be going right.

Despite going into the villa looking for a tradie, she left with a model with a criminology and law degree—something she's sure her mum will be stoked about.

"What you think you want and what you need are such different things and maybe that's why I've been single for so long," she told NW.

"Mark is gorgeous and such a beautiful person. My mum will be proud of me for going after a nice boy."

Mark has even passed the all-important first test of meeting Millie's dog!
