The question on everyone’s lips in this season of House Rules is: how will larger-than-life international design star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen fare now that Aussie icon Jamie Durie has joined the judging mix?

Well, according to Laurence, not too badly at all!

“We know each other extremely well,” the star, 54, tells TV WEEK. “We have an existing dynamic and we’re not frightened of taking each other on.”

Laurence and Jamie have worked together for more than six years on Asia’s biggest reality show The Apartment.

“A lot of people were like, ‘How is this going to work?’ because me and Jamie are very different people. But we’ve been together longer than he’s been in a relationship with a woman. I’m the longest-serving Mrs Durie!” Laurence says with a laugh.

“As Wendy [Moore] has pointed out, Jamie is Peter Pan and I’m Captain Hook. And Wendy is Wendy. There’s no reserve – he [Jamie] is very happy to tell me what he thinks of me!”

Jamie, 48, adds, “It’s been really fun to work with Laurence again. We all have very strong opinions and don’t always agree, but I think that’s good; it makes great TV.”
