Bachelor In Paradise star Jake Ellis has had a tough few years losing both his dad, Brian, last year and his mum Robyn in 2018.

On what would be three years since she lost her battle with breast cancer, Jake has shared a heartbreaking post dedicated to his mum that’s brought us to tears.

“This is the very last photo that I ever had with my beautiful Mum, I share it as today marks 3 years since we heartbreakingly lost her,” Jake began in an Instagram post.

“I’ve always shared my emotions of grief in losing both my parents, I guess in a sense it helps a little, but today makes that devastating day feel like it was yesterday. Even three years on, it still hits me like a freight train on these anniversaries.

He then went on to add: “I miss her wholeheartedly, every single day, but at the same time I am grateful for the Mum and love that I did have every day too. She was an incredible woman and Mother. Something that words or time will ever truly describe, but I like to think I carry the best of her with me always.❤️”

The beautiful post was flooded with messages of support from his fellow Bachelor alumni including Georgia Love, who was the Bachelorette during his season and who lost her own mother to cancer.

“I can’t believe it’s been three years 💔 Thinking of you and your beautiful parents always xx” she wrote.

Jake became an ambassador for the National Breast Cancer Foundation following his mum’s passing.

Jake’s mum Robyn suffered with breast cancer for 25 years and as Jake was just six years-old when she was diagnosed, he knows first-hand about cancer treatment.

“I remember mum had to be away from us for a long time. The smell of the hospital has always stayed with me,” he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Speaking to Mamamia, Jake opened up about the charity work he did with his late mum and how he wants to continue that legacy with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, having become an ambassador for the charity in 2018.

“To me Mum is watching this, and she’s doing all she can, guiding me. It’s all for Mum and it’s all to help other people that are going through something similar.”
