While Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic always knew they wanted to be parents, the arrival of their first child together, daughter Harper May Stefanovic, was never guaranteed.
When the couple met on a boat in Sydney in 2016, Karl was already a father and had undergone a vasectomy.
The 47-year-old Today host shares three children with his former wife Cassandra Thorburn - but wanted to start a new family with his second wife Jasmine.
Karl says having a child with Jasmine was always a goal for the couple.
"We discussed it very early on in our relationship and I was very excited about the prospect of having a baby," Karl recently told Daily Mail Australia.
He later had his vasectomy reversed and last year, after trying for some time, the couple announced their happy pregnancy news, with Karl revealing he couldn't wait to become a father again.
And on May 1 2020, the couple got their wish, as Harper May was welcomed into the world at Sydney's Royal North Shore Private.
"Harper and Jasmine are doing well and dad had a great night's sleep. I am in awe. Harper is absolutely perfect," Karl said in a statement announcing the happy news.

Just weeks before Jasmine gave birth, the popular Channel Nine personality explained his new daughter would be an expression of the love he has for his wife.
"We [he and Jasmine] do have a very loving relationship and to have a baby as an expression of that love is incredible. It's never an easy thing and I think that kids are a miracle and we just can't wait to meet this little girl. Just to shower her with all the love that we have."
And it's clear the new parents are doing just that, as well as sharing some gorgeous photos of their daughter with the world.
