The countdown is on! Edwina Bartholomew farewells Sunrise as she prepares to welcome her second child

Edwina Bartholomew has worked her last day at Sunrise before heading off on maternity leave.

The mum-of-one is expecting her second child with husband Neil Varcoe in February and is making the most of her final days before their newborn arrives.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Edwina shared a sweet photo of herself clutching a bouquet of flowers alongside her Sunrise colleagues David ‘Kochie’ Koch, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta.

“Goodbye work family @sunriseon7. Hello new addition to our family. Thank you for all the wonderful well wishes,” she wrote.

“Hoping for a few sleep-ins before we delve back into the baby bubble in a few weeks time xx.

“PS will miss @mariarivera_mua and her magic makeup brushes. PPS thanks to the online team for cropping out my festy slides from this photo. Why I didn’t give up on heels weeks ago is beyond me.”

The TV personality already shares daughter Molly with husband Neil and previously told Now To Love that they would be happy with a boy or a girl this time around.

“You know what you’re in for and I’m not as worried or nervous this time around, because it all went quite well with Molly,” she added.

A week before her last day at work, Edwina took to Instagram to share photos of how much her belly has grown.

But her post wasn’t just an update on her pregnancy; it was also an empowering message for other expectant mums who may be struggling with body insecurities.

“I am one of those women who is pregnant all over. Pregnant toes. Pregnant arms. Pregnant legs. Pregnant pigmentation face. Very pregnant belly,” Edwina penned in the caption.

“It’s a big deal for me to wear a bikini but here I am. I’ve decided life is way too short to sweat the bumps, big and small.”

Referring to herself as “eight months pregnant and about to pop”, Edwina said that the Ripe Maternity bikini she wore for the photos was a gift in many senses of the word.

Not only was it a freebie, the swimwear had her loving her pregnant body and feeling like “some kind of 50s aqua musical star”.
