Woman gets pregnant 14 times in ten years to avoid jail

The woman was sentenced to life imprisonment for corruption ten years ago; however after announcing she was pregnant was let go on probation by a judge.

A woman has become pregnant for the 14th time in a decade in order to avoid a jail sentence.

The woman, from northwest China, was sentenced to life imprisonment for corruption ten years ago; however after announcing she was pregnant was let go on probation by a judge.

Known only as Zeng, the lady undertook an abortion as soon as the probation was handed down by the court.

Since then she fell pregnant 14 more times to avoid jail time—only one of which turned out to be a false pregnancy, The People’s Daily Online reports. Every time it appeared she would be imprisoned, she announced she was pregnant again.

It is unknown if all the babies were carried full-term or not.

The woman has finally been imprisoned at the age of 39 after her final appeal was rejected.
