Dad intentionally left son in hot car to die

A 34-year-old father has been accused of intentionally leaving his toddler son in the car on a boiling hot day.

A 34-year-old father is facing court for allegedly leaving his 22-month-old son in the car on a hot day, with the intention of killing him.

Justin Ross Harris of Alabama, has been in Cobb County Jail since his son’s death in June 2014.

He is charged with malice murder, felony murder and first-degree cruelty to children.

Justin claims on the day of his son’s death, he took him for breakfast shortly before placing him into a rear-facing child’s car seat in the back of his Hyundai SUV and then driving to work.

Justin claims he parked the car and walked into the office, completely forgetting his little boy was in the car.

The boy was stuck strapped in the car seat for nearly seven hours with the windows rolled up.

Weather experts said the outdoor temperature reached 33 degrees Celsius on that day. Sadly, the bub died of hyperthermia.

But Justin’s computer records tell a different story.

When interviewed by police, Harris admitted to having researched “child deaths inside vehicles and what temperature it needs to be”.

The Daily Mail reports Justin and his wife were unhappy and prosecutors argue Justin left his son in the car as a way to get out of his marriage and seek other women.

Prosecutor Boring said while Cooper was dying inside the hot car, Ross Harris was at his desk, sexting with as many as six different women on that day.

The case continues.
