Famous lions found poisoned in Kenya

Two of the most popular lions on the show Big Cat Diary have been found poisoned in their reserve.

Two members of a famous lion pride from the popular BBC show, Big Cat Diary, have been found dead in Kenya.

National Geographic reports that the lions of the Marsh pride appear to have been poisoned.

The lions live on the Masai Mara reserve, and the life of the pride has been documented for more than two decades.

A female lion named Bibi—who appeared on the show from 1996 to 2008—was found dead Monday, and a second, Siena, is missing.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the poisoning.

The magazine says local farmers have been known to leave poisoned meat out as punishment when lions attack their cattle.
