Police ask for help to locate a stolen therapy puppy

Tallow is also a therapy dog for children in foster care.

Tallow the seven-month-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel was stolen from Heidelberg Heights on Saturday the 9th of December and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

What makes this story even more heartbreaking is that Tallow is no ordinary, adorable puppy; he is also a therapy dog for children in foster care, providing support to children dealing with trauma.

Tallow’s owner, Matthew Wilson, and his partner Erin Horwood run a care company for children who have been through traumatic events.

Tallow would sit and play with the children, all are devastated that he has been taken.

Matthew spoke to the Herald Sun about the difficult moment he had to tell his children about their missing puppy.

He explained that his four-year-old just started to weep when he heard the news.

“Our hearts are filled with sadness and we just want him back.”
