A story broke earlier this week that Four-year-old Maria Hood had her two-month-old Labrador puppy Sasha stolen during a burglary.
The tragic story broke hearts around the nation, with images of the forlorn little girl accompanied by quotes stating that when asked, she expressed simply that she was, “sad.”
In a scene that was almost too tragic and adorable for words, Maria opened her arms and told reporters she missed her puppy “this much”.
Ooff.
As well as the puppy, a number of items had been stolen from the families northeast Melbourne home, including a laptop, iPad and jewellery.
The Labrador puppy named Sasha was, understandably the theft that stung the family the most.
A Victoria Police Senior Constable told reporters that it was unlikely the dog escaped on its own.

Baby Sasha is a heart breaker.
Something that seems increasingly rare these days is a truly happy ending, but that’s precisely what this story has.
Sasha was dropped over the side fence at the family home just days after she was taken.
None of the other items were returned but the family are obviously overjoyed, especially Maria.

Maria and Sasha
Taking to Facebook, Ryan Hood, Maria’s father, thanked everyone for their support and kindness through the ordeal, also crediting the social media support for “helping the burglar to grow a conscious.”
“Puppy has been returned and the whole family is very relieved – especially my daughter,” Ryan said in his post.

Happy Friday.
