Parents recreate daughter’s cringe-worthy selfies

For Emily Musson her Facebook post was supposed to be a cutesy celebration of her two week-long romance with her new beau but her parents saw it as the perfect opportunity to show off their copy-cat selfie skills.

The college student thought the best way to illustrate her love was to show pictures of her and boyfriend kissing and canoodling and but her parents, Nancy and Craig – who have been together for 28 years – were inspired to mock the shots by mimicking their daughter in an identical post.

The original.

The recreation.

Much to her chagrin Emily reposted the picture side-by-side on her twitter with the caption:

“My parents r [sic] actually on drugs or something.”

Adding: “I mean I guess it’s funny but not like 30k favs [sic] funny.”

In the past week the posts has been retweeted more than 76 thousand times and it appears Emily has managed to see the funny side.

“When it went viral I was confused. Like, yeah, it’s funny but, like, it’s more interesting if you actually know my parents,” Emily told Cosmopolitan.

As for Nancy and Craig, well they seem to be delighted with themselves.

“My mum thinks it’s hilarious and claims she wants to be on Dancing With the Stars,” Emily said.
