Congratulations! MasterChef’s Adam Liaw welcomes third child

Just look at those gorgeous cheeks!

Congratulations are in order for MasterChef alum, Adam Liaw and his wife, Asami, who have welcomed their third child.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the season two winner shared a post announcing the newest addition to his growing family, a bouncing baby boy!

“It’s Saturday night, so you have a nice steak dinner and are just settling in front of the TV with the rest of a bottle of wine to watch the Bledisloe Cup, and your wife chooses that exact moment to decide to have a baby,” he cheekily captioned the post.

“Introducing Benji Liaw. Happy, strong and blessed with impeccable timing.”

The caption accompanied a photograph of Adam holding Benji and boy, oh, boy – just look at those scrumptious cheeks!

Of course, it didn’t take long for the Aussie TV world to congratulate Adam on the new bub.

“Congrats!!!! And Wallabies won in case you’re wondering,” TV and radio star Amanda Keller wrote.

“🐣🐣🐣💚💚💚”, Kylie Kwong commented.

Fellow MasterChef winner, Ben Borscht, who has also just become a first time dad to Sonny Michael a few weeks ago, sent his well-wishes with a hearty “congratulations!”.

Benji is the third child for Adam and Asami, who already have two adorable children, Christopher and Anna.

In a story written by Liaw for the Sydney Morning Herald, back in September, the culinary genius revealed that fatherhood was “one hell of a ride”.

“It can be overwhelming, infuriating, euphoric, hilarious and humbling, all in a single moment. It sneaks up on you, too. One minute you’re enjoying Friday-night drinks with your mates, and it seems the very next you’re holding this fragile little thing barely bigger than your hands. You’ve got to work out not just how to keep them alive, but somehow help them to become the best people they can be.”

When it comes to being a “great dad”, Adam revealed that he didn’t “have all the answers”.

“The tack I’ve always taken with fatherhood is to do it by example. With each year that passes I feel I’m becoming more like my own dad – down to the brand of paint I buy.”

For Adam, being a father has changed him and in fact, is much “happier now that they’re around”.

“I’m stronger. I’m nicer, and I have more integrity. These kids make me a better person and I’m very grateful to them for that.”

Congratulations to Adam, Asami, Christopher and Anna; and welcome to baby Benji!
