It’s been a year since they tied the knot in a stunning and intimate ceremony in Kangaroo Valley.

And now, Peter Stefanovic has revealed he and his wife Sylvia Jeffreys are planning the next step in their marriage.

In a candid new interview, the Channel Nine star admits they can’t wait to start a family together.

“It’s something we both want to do,” the 36-year-old revealed to‘s podcast Balls Deep.

Before adding: “I feel I’d be missing out if we didn’t have a kid, but we’re both pretty busy with our work at the moment.”

Indeed, the couple are at the top of their game professionally with Sylvia anchoring the Today show’s news desk and Pete co-hosting Weekend Today and filing stories as a senior reporter on Nine News.

“We’re not in any rush. Maybe in the next couple of years. We have had discussions about it,” Pete said.

Although Sylvia has kept her surname, when they add to their brood Pete confirmed they’ll be mini Stefanovics.

“When we do have kids, they’ll be Stefanovics,” he confirmed.

Proving he’s a total romantic at heart, the journalist also revealed he always knew he would marry Sylvia.

Meanwhile, Sylvia has also opened up in the past about her hopes for “a house full of kids” one day soon.

“Our hope is that down the track, we could have a house on the Gold Coast so that our kids can have the same experiences with their cousins that we both had as kids with our cousins,” she told The Weekly last November.
