Duchess Meghan has always been a foodie and a health fanatic, but it turns out she’s just like us when it comes to indulging in junk food. Especially those foods we hope no one else finds out about…

In an unearthed interview with EyeSwoon back in 2017, the now Duchess of Sussex was asked which food she embarrassingly and secretly still loved to eat and we’ve got to say, we can relate big time.

The former Suits star has made no secret that she loves french fries even declaring them “their own food group” and acknowledged this in her interview.

“I love a french fry, but there’s no shame in that,” Meghan said.

“But you know what I do really happen to lovvvvve is that boxed macaroni and cheese. I now buy the Annie’s organic one if I’m craving it, but I throw some frozen peas into it and have this gooey simple childlike meal. I used to cook it for the kids I would babysit and I always enjoyed feeling like a kid and eating it with them.”

It’s clear that Megs also is a big fan of potatoes (same here Your Highness) as she added, “I’m also not averse to eating tater tots. With ketchup and sriracha.”

The interview also revealed a sneaky clue that she and Prince Harry were getting very serious as she was also asked about her ultimate food day and who she’d share it with.

“Breakfast of blueberry johnnycakes with extra crispy bacon and maple syrup, lunch of fish tacos and albarino cooked in my backyard on my ceramic grill (the big green egg), dinner would be a beautiful rib eye and sautéed broccoli rabe (or a bowl of cavatelli pasta) and glass of Tig, of course,” she replied.

“And the ‘whom’ knows who they are.”

Was this Meghan’s sneaky way of declaring her love for her prince?

On her now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, Meghan frequently shared restaurant reviews and recipes.

“I’m always on the quest to find amazing new restaurants and new recipes. I’m a California girl, right?” she told Marie Claire before she became a fully-fledged royal.

And while healthy eating is an important value for the Duchess of Sussex, she’s all about indulging in the odd treat.

“I think if you deprive yourself of anything you’re just going to crave it more, so for me it’s just finding that balance. Eating really well during the week and then treating yourself to whatever it is you want over the weekend.”

New mum Meghan may like the odd mac and cheese, but at her core she’s passionate about eating fresh, healthy food.

In a recent interview, Daniel Martin, Meghan’s friend and make-up artist revealed that the Duchess of Sussex will make her own baby food for little Archie.

“I’m sure the baby’s gonna be raised like, definitely clean and green,” Daniel told CBS’s Gayle King. “Clean and green for the baby. She loves to cook. Eating organic whenever she can.”

“Oh, I totally see her making her own baby food.”

Growing up in southern California, the mum-of-one’s passion for healthy living was installed at a young age.

“I loved gardening and growing my own vegetables. That farm-to-table ethos was ingrained at such a young age,” she confessed in a previous interview.

It’s also been reported that following their move to Frogmore Cottage, Meghan and Harry installed a small vegetable plot where the Duchess wants to be able grow vegetables, herbs and soft fruits.

“She regularly cooks for Prince Harry and the cottage will be the perfect place for her to prepare meals with some home grown produce from their own garden,” a source told the Daily Mail.
