Former supermodel Christie, 61, says that she got a shock after attending Fashion Week recently.
“I went to the [New York] fashion shows recently and I could not believe how skinny the models were,” Christie said on a US TV show.
Christie said it gave her a reality check about the industry, and that she didn’t want Sailor to be a part of it.
“When I went to the modelling agency with my daughter, I saw the girls so, so, so skinny and I just said to Sailor, ‘You’re not going to go there.’”
“Either the business comes to you and you represent health or you don’t need to do that,” Christie said she told her daughter.”

The stunning Sailor has been making a name for herself in the modelling world, recently appearing in a prom fashion show for US department store Lord and Taylor.
While Christie might have her concerns about the industry these days though, it seems she has faith in her daughter and isn’t worried about her starving herself to fit “standard” small sizes.
“When she first started modelling she had lost weight gradually and got some jobs as a model and then at others, the other girls were so much thinner.”
“Then she’d call me and I’d say, ‘Don’t panic. That’s why they can split open the pants in the back if they need to!’ She did start to lose a little too much weight, but she caught it herself. She’s so smart and strong.”
It’s good to know that Sailor has an industry-pro behind her that will always have her back!
