The chic and comfortable clothes your weekend wardrobe needs

We'll be wearing these outfits on heavy rotation this winter.

By BTYB Trenery
Autumn has arrived, our weekend-wear is changing and we're gradually retiring summer dresses in favour of knitwear, boots and jackets.
The weekends during cooler months call for weekends away, either by the coast or in the country, long lunches with friends and quality time spend indoors with the family. It also calls for relaxed silhouettes, leaving more structured looks, such as blazers for weekdays.
Whether you're going about your daily errands or out and about with the family, when it comes to dressing for winter, comfort is key. However, you need not compromise on style, if Trenery's latest collection is anything to go by.
This season's collection features clever layering – and considered purchases that are both comfortable and smart. We'll have these looks on heavy rotation, until the mercury rises again.

Breton stripes

No wardrobe is complete without a classic, Breton-striped top. During winter, opt for a navy or black version with cream or white stripes and wear on its own for a casual look, or layering with a coat or cardigan. They are perfect for pairing with white jeans and a pair of sneakers or your favourite boots. When in doubt, this is a weekend outfit that will take from café catch-ups with friends to the countryside in style.

Matching knitwear

If there's one trend that we're happy to continue wearing in 2021, it's matching knitwear. Last year, we added it to our isolation wardrobe, and this year, we can safely say this look is outdoor-approved. Made from the softest of wool, Trenery's latest collection both looks smart and is a treat to wear, whether you're lounging around at home or out and about. To achieve this effortless look, pair a fine-knitted jumper with a matching hooded-cardigan. How chic!

Camel-coloured jackets

A forever-trend favoured by royals, a camel-coloured coat is a great alternative to monochrome looks in the cooler months. A relaxed cardigan version will get you through the cooler months, and is perfect for a dressed-down weekend look. Layer this version over a fine-knitted grey hoodie and burgundy turtle neck for the perfect autumnal look – and added warmth.

Knitted scarves

Keeping warm those blustery winter days is key, and thankfully Trenery has introduced classic knitted scarves to complete any winter outfit. The light pink offers a touch of brightness to monochrome outfits, while the grey version offers a seasonally-suitable neutral tone to wear day in and out.
Recycled wool wrap coat, $499; Alpaca rollneck, $199; Ponte legging, $89.95; Chris flat, $169; all at Trenery.

Olive green coats

If there's one colour that was made for our winter wardrobes, it's olive green. It makes for an especially smart overcoat, with a nod to ever-popular military-style jackets. Opt for a version with oversized lapels and a matching tie-up belt which softens its structured look – it's an item you'll be able to wear for many winters to come.
