Stylist to the stars Donny Galella has styled many looks for the TV WEEK Logie Awards over the years and this year is no different! In fact, the style expert will be lending his hand to six people this year and he expects to have many last minute phone calls requesting his help.

Each year Donny kicks goals with the dresses his clients wear, but it takes the stylist and his client a while to choose the perfect dress. Donny usually provides a whopping ten options for his clients to pick from.

“I love to always provide options. I think ten’s a good number. That’s obviously once we’ve sat down and had a good talk about the brief and all that kind of stuff. I think ten good options at least,” Donny says.

In preparation for this year’s TV WEEK Logies, we asked Donny to pick his three favourite looks from over the years.

Olivia DeJonge, 2016

“I loved working with Best New Talent nominee Olivia DeJonge, it was her first Logies red carpet, so we made sure she made a statement. Apart from helping her find the dress, shoes, clutch, jewels, provide hair and makeup directions. I also taught her how to walk and hold herself in the gown. I felt like a proud dad watching her totally own that red carpet.”

Demi Harman, 2015

“My all-time favourite look that I styled for the Logies is Demi Harman in 2015; she wore a red full skirted Steven Khalil couture gown. She had a complete princess moment, everyone was doing fitted styles that year so she really stood out on the red carpet and had fun with her look.”

Sophie Faulkner, 2014

“We had this beautiful black Nicola Finetti gown and a Roberto Cavalli belt and Alexander McQueen clutch. It was just a nice collaboration working with Sophie and the designer. It just came together really nicely.”

We can’t wait to see Donny’s looks on the red carpet this Sunday. The stars he will be styling include The Biggest Loser: Transformed trainer Libby Babet and 800 Words star Melina Vidler.
