Dannii Minogue is set to host a brand new, world first dating show on BBC Three in the United Kingdom after sensationally quitting The Masked Singer Australia in 2022.

In May 2022, the singer told the Herald Sun that her ”fashion commitments” in the UK conflicted with the scheduling of The Masked Singer filming for that same year.

The 51-year-old, much like her older sister Kylie, has spent a considerable amount of time working and living in the United Kingdom so it comes as no surprise that she is returning to the country once more.

The show itself has been titled ”I Kissed a Boy” and is the United Kingdom’s first ever gay dating show.

Dannii has described her hosting of the show as ”thrilling.”

When the show was first announced mid-2022, Dannii wrote that she was’ ‘thrilled” to be part of history.

”Having the opportunity to be a part of this show is giving me that flutter of love feeling,” Dannii wrote on Twitter alongside the official show announcement.

”I’m so thrilled that a gay dating show is joining the TV love search mix. Let’s hope we see some beautiful love stories on our screens, sealed with a kiss! Happy assistant to Cupid.”

According to the official show description on IMDB, ”In I Kissed a Boy, 10 single men head to Europe, where romance will start with a kiss.”

”Before they arrive, they will be paired up with the man best suited to them and as soon as they meet, they have to share a kiss to see if sparks fly.

”Of course, along the way there will be dramatic decisions, wandering eyes and preconceptions to be challenged. But will any of them find their true love?”

Dannii was a member of The Masked Singer judging panel from 2019 – 2022.

The show synopsis also described the show as having ”explosive drama, gripping cliff-hanger and powerful untold stories – from coming out in a strict religious family, to the pressures of body image in the gay dating scene, to navigating self-acceptance, sex and first same sex relationships.”

Announcing the news via her social media accounts, Danni described her time hosting the reality series on Twitter as a real ”pleasure.”

“In a picture perfect Masseria in Italy…it all starts with a kiss for 10 boys in their search for love,” Dannii wrote.

”I Kissed A Boy is the UK’s first ever gay dating show, and it was a pleasure for me to be there to help these guys in their search for love.”

Dannii and her sister Kylie have long been allies of the queer community. Here they are performing at Sydney World Pride in 2023.

Over on her Instagram Dannii wrote ”It’s about time for a show like this!” and we couldn’t agree more!

The Block co-host Shaynna Blaze was the first to share her support for Dannii, commenting a number of heart eye emojis under the post.

Other fans were also quick to ask when the show would be available for streaming in Australia.

”Hey @danniiminogue I’m hoping @abctv and @abcqueer may pick this up for us Aussies. They have some great queer content on ABC iView,” another follower called Owen wrote.

It is unclear at this stage when the show will premiere but based on Dannii’s social media activity, we can assume it will be coming soon to both BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
