The magic is over for Apollo Jackson and Sophie Monk, with the singer bidding adieu to the 24-year-old on the semi-final of The Bachelorette Australia 2017.
We’re not going to lie, we really thought that despite the age-gap, Apollo Jackson could win.
Now we’re completely and utterly gutted.
Apollo Jackson was kind, funny, an actual magician AND he was built like Clark Kent.
But the heart wants what the heart wants and Sophie Monk is now faced with the choice between Jarrod Woodgate and Stu Laundy.
He may no longer be a contender on The Bachelorette Australia, but the Gold Coast boy sure did share something pretty spectacular with Sophie Monk.

The magician certainly got brownie points with his ability to make Soph laugh.
“With Sophie, I just felt so comfortable around her and we just bounce off each other,” Apollo told us of their connection.
Their connection was electric.
He may be built like a Greek god…
But he’s a real softie!
Apollo won over a legion of fans with his sweet demeanour.
And the fact he has his very own pony just made our hearts melt all over again.
Sophie was definitely besotted.

Their mutual attraction deepened after their charming retro date.

Despite the chemistry, there were concerns about their 13-year age-gap.
Apollo says, “I know there’s a 13-year age gap between Sophie and I, but I’ve always thought of love not having boundaries.”
On her part, Sophie was hooked.
Apollo’s “old soul” charm worked in his favour.
“It’s like he’s the perfect man!”
When Apollo was 22, he suffered a heart attack. The health scare turned his life around.
Sophie described him as “very worldly.”
His housemates adored how nurturing he was to them.
It was more than puppy love…
“I want to settle down. I want someone that’s amazing, that cares for me. And I look at Apollo and he’s got all those things!”
“I’d love to have a future with Apollo. I’m really excited to see where this can go ’cause I really like him.”
Sophie gushed, “There’s definitely a spark there!”

Home visits were a smash hit for Apollo and Sophie.
She took some convincing but Sophie even won over her toughest critic – Grandma Ellie.
