Farmer Wants A Wife 2023 has been home to some awkward first date jitters and heartfelt confessions, but last night’s episode saw the first fiery feud of the season.

After a week of cattle chasing and apple picking, the farmers and the ladies had an opportunity to come together for an afternoon of croquet.

With Farmer Brad on the barbecue, the farmers were able to let off some steam and debrief together about the challenges and triumphs of the last week on the farm.

The ladies also took some time to debrief, with Lucie revealing that not everything has been smooth sailing on Farmer Andrew’s farm.

Lucie shared with the other ladies that she was struggling to get along with Maddison and shared that she had called Maddison out for allegedly not being genuine.

As the chat went on, Lucie wasn’t one to beat around the bush, confessing to the camera that she hoped Maddison would be the next one to leave the farm.

‘I think I would definitely have a better time connecting with Andrew if she wasn’t here’, she added.

As the week progressed, tensions between Maddison and Lucie continued to rise, with the annual country ball becoming a night they would remember for all the wrong reasons.

After a night on the dancefloor, the farmers and ladies relaxed under the fairy lights, with each farmer taking time to get to know their ladies better.

Lucie was eager to have this one-on-one time with Farmer Andrew, as she felt that she hadn’t had the opportunity so far to connect with him on a deeper level.

With this lack of connection at the forefront of her mind, Lucie told the other girls that she wanted be the first one to have a solo talk with Andrew.

Unfortunately for Lucie, not all the girls were supportive of her having the first chat, with Maddison cutting in and pulling Farmer Andrew away from the group.

‘I do want to get some alone time with Andrew, but it’s hard when you’ve got someone like Lucie always talking,’ defended Maddison.

‘I don’t think people who are horrible the way she is get very far in life, so karma’s a b**** ‘, she added.

This move by Maddison greatly distressed Lucie, who stormed away from the group in tears.

‘She’s a snake. I just think she’s rude and she’s a b**** and I’m done’, stated Lucie, who stressed the unfairness of her situation to the other girls.

With Lucie away from the table, Maddison returned to the group from her chat with Farmer Andrew, and Claire was quick to let Maddison know that her actions did not go unnoticed.

‘Didn’t want to let Lucie go first? [You] thought you’d jump in there with whatever you had to say that was interesting?’, quipped Claire.

‘If I get a chance to have a chat with Andrew tonight, I’m going to tell him exactly what you did’, she threatened.

With Farmer Andrew back at the table, Lucie made sure to let him know that she was still annoyed with the situation that had unfolded, but was quick to tell Farmer Andrew that her disappointment was not a result of his actions.

As they embark on their second week of farm life, tensions continue to grow between Maddison and Lucie.

Only time will tell if either of the ladies will be the one to win Farmer Andrew’s heart, or if the next week will be their last on the farm.
