Sex and the City creator Darren Starr doesn’t believe Carrie should’ve ended up with Mr Big

Now this is a BIG shock!
Carrie and Mr Big

Sex and the City creator Darren Star revealed that Carrie Bradshaw would have never lived happily ever after with Mr. Big if he wrote the ending.

He made the shock statement during a recent Kindle Singles interview.

“I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don’t ultimately find happiness from marriage,” the 54-year-old admitted.

“Not that they can’t. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That’s what had made women so attached.”

The hit sitcom mastermind got candid and revealed that the decision was made by other writers and producers of the award-winning HBO series.

“For me, in a way – I didn’t [write] those last episodes,” he said. “At a certain point, you’ve got to let them follow their vision.”

Adding, “At the end, it became a conventional romantic comedy,” he continued. “But unless you’re there to write every episode, you’re not going to get the ending you want.”

The show was always about the girls and their friendship.

Sex and the City ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and starred Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie, Kim Cattrall played the vixen Samantha Jones, Kristin Davis was New York’s princess Charlotte York and Cynthia Nixon portrayed ball-busting lawyer Miranda Hobbes.
