The Nine Network was dealt a blow earlier this year when Jessica Marais dropped out of upcoming murder drama Bad Mothers, which starts filming this month, to focus on her health.

But in exciting news, Tess Haubrich will star as Jess’ replacement in the role of Sarah. The 29-year-old former model had a leading role in Wolf Creek in 2017.

Tess Haubrich will play Sarah.

Melissa George will play Charlotte, Daniel MacPherson will star as Anton, Don Hany as Kyle, Michala Banas as Jesse and Steve Bastoni as Tom.

Other stars in the series include Mandy McElhinney, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jessica Tovey.

Melissa George has joined the cast as Charlotte.

Bad Mothers will follow modern women juggling the big issues of love, family, careers, infidelity and murder.

The series sounds in the realm of the US series Big Little Lies, about the lives of four very different mothers and a world of “dirty little secrets”.

“Some mothers are perfect with a beautiful home and the perfect family but sometimes behind that pristine picket fence, there’s a world of dirty little secrets,” a statement from Nine reveals of the series.

Bad Mothers will premiere on the Nine Network in 2019, stay tuned for more details!
