This comes less than a month since Jessica Rowe also left the TV programme.

On March 30, self-dubbed Crap Housewife Jessica Rowe said her final goodbyes to Studio 10, having co-hosted the programme for more than four years. Now, just shy of a month since Jess’ departure, media icon Ita Buttrose is also set to leave the TV show.

Her last show is tomorrow, April 25, and, like Jess, Ita says she is taking her time away from Studio 10 to spend it with family.

“I have had a long involvement with Network Ten, stretching back many years,” she said in an official statement.

“I’ve had five great years on Studio 10, but it is time for me to move on and focus on other parts of my life, including spending more time with my grandchildren, and writing.”

Network Ten Chief Content Offfice Beverley McGarvey said: “We are very sad to see Ita leave Studio 10. She has been with the show since day one and has been a wonderful member of the team.”

“Ita is a true legend of the Australian media and a great colleague,” she continues.

“Everyone at Studio 10 and Network Ten, as well as her many fans, will miss her but we fully understand and support her decision to step away from the show. She is, of course, welcome to come home to Studio 10 at any time.”

So, who’s left on the Studio 10 desk? Sarah Harris, Joe Hildebrand and Denise Drysdale, with “new co-hosts” to be announced by the network soon.

Perhaps Lisa Wilkinson will make a surprise cameo and a return back to breakfast TV?

We can only dream…
