They’re the toast of the town. But one person is hell-bent on ruining Chelsea and Colby’s happy engagement – and he’ll do anything to get what he wants.

In tense scenes in Home And Away this week, Inspector Neil Campbell (Steve Nation) surprises his daughter Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer) when he shows up at the police station. But it’s not long before they’re at odds over her engagement to Colby (Tim Franklin).

He disapproves of his daughter marrying a former River Boy, despite her assurances Colby is a changed man.

“It’s a turbulent reunion,” Tim, 28, tells TV WEEK. “He doesn’t like Colby because he lied to him and the family.”

Colby and Chelsea were quick to get engaged.

But maybe the Inspector has a point.

Tim muses how quick his character was to propose to Chelsea after the couple reunited – too quick, perhaps…

“Their relationship will definitely take some work, but I can see what Colby sees in her,” he says of his character’s sudden proposal.

“Chelsea is his chance for stability. She’s his main example of what a normal life could be. It was a really big move on his part [to propose].”

Without thinking, Colby confronts his future father-in-law about their issues. He believes it’s time to put the past behind them and move on.

But Neil has other ideas. He presents Colby with a stern warning: break up with Chelsea or he’ll ruin his career!

“He’s a very serious and capable man,” Tim says.

But wait – there’s more. Neil claims to know where Colby’s missing sister is, but won’t divulge the information unless Colby calls off the engagement.

The policeman has been searching for Bella since before he arrived in Summer Bay.

“He definitely considers the offer,” Tim says. “Family is everything to him.”

Colby takes in the proposition and considers what to do. But is Neil lying to get what he wants?
