“I believe you can either act or you can’t. Most of us who started on Home And Away didn’t go to acting school before - including me,” Ada,40, told The Daily Telegraph.
“Home And Away is a great place to develop your craft. Plus, it’s a rigorous audition process to get through and she wouldn’t have made it if she couldn’t act,” she added.
Speaking to TV WEEK, Sam admitted that she’s been putting in “months of hard work”.
“I’ve been working on TV sets for four years,” the 28-year-old explains. “In every one of those situations, I’ve had to be vulnerable, open and pretend there aren’t 100 crew members around.
“That’s a skill I’ve learnt – I definitely think it’ll help with Home And Away.”
Former Home And Away star Kate Ritchie has previously spoken out in support of Sam on her radio show.
“There have been a lot of people who have joined the show without any training and some of them have left without any training,” Kate said.
“What’s everyone meant to do? Turn down opportunities because they are worried about what everyone is going to think of it?”
We can’t wait to see Sam in her new role. We’re sure she’ll be a fantastic addition to Summer Bay!
