The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be supporting British participants in the America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth on the south coast of England, which will run form July 23-26.

The royals will watch six competitors, including one British and one New Zealand team, compete in the prestigious race and will present the winners with their medals.

No doubt the mother-of-two will be thrilled at this engagement, considering in her gap year she spent time as part of the crew on a sail boat travelling the wold.

The British team,Land Rover BAR, promised to achieve victory and become the very first to do so on home waters since the competition’s conception in 1851.

Staying true to their modern roots, Catherine and William will also be chatting to the crews and their family members after the event.

It’s been a slow move back into the public eye for the Duchess, who gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, on May 2.

The future Queen is attending the festivities in a royal capacity as the Patron of the 1851 Trust – which aims to inspire and engage the new generation about sailing and the maritime industry.

We cannot wait to see The Duchess of Cambridge in an environment so close to her heart.

Don’t let this photo fool you, Duchess Catherine is a keen sailor!
