The organisation, which was founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, helps Aids orphans and disadvantaged children in the African kingdom of Lesotho.
In his speech on Wednesday night, Harry told the audience the charity was making a huge difference to the lives of orphaned and impoverished children, The Telegraph reported.
“At times the severity of severe poverty can be overwhelming,” the fourth in line to the throne said. “However it is through the dedication, passion and commitment of the Sentebale team, our community partners, local government – the children’s longing to learn – and you tonight that we are battling with these issues and giving these children a chance of a happier future.”
Singer and songwriter, Joss Stone, who recently visited some of the charity’s projects in Africa, entertained guests at the event, along with Beverley Knight.
One notable person missing from the event was Cressida. It follows a week of reports that Prince Harry and the 25-year-old split after two years together.
According to The Telegraph UK, Bonas could not be included in Prince Harry’s royal expenses and has always been required to pay for her own way, but she felt the relationship was on the rocks and was not willing to fork out such a great amount if the pair were headed for a split.
Regardless, Prince Harry seemed to enjoy himself at the event, celebrating the good work his charity has done in the past decade. His dedication to Sentebale, which means “forget me not”, shows he is committed to continuing the work of his mother, Princess Diana and her fight against HIV/AIDS.
