Much of Duchess Meghan’s life from before she became a royal isn’t a complete mystery to us – we loved her as an actress, admired her humanitarian work, and of course, coveted her flawless style.

But since she became a royal, our intrigue about the formidable Duchess has understandably increased given her new status as a royal family member.

And lucky for us, the Palace has shared an extra bit of insight into Meghan’s life pre-marrying Harry, and it’s a beautiful testament to her kind and giving nature.

Taking to Sussex Royal’s Instagram, the pair (or presumably the pair’s communications team) shared several candid snaps of the royals for Remembrance Day on November 11.

And while two of the three candid pictures were lovely, it was the first picture that really stopped us in our tracks.

Seen standing alongside several other Hollywood actors in 2014, Meghan is standing before hundreds of army personel holding a USO sign with a beaming smile on her face.

In the caption, the royals explained: “In 2014, The (now) Duchess of Sussex proudly went on @TheUSO tour with the Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, visiting troops in five countries.”

The countries included Spain, Turkey, Afganistan and the United Kingdom.

The post continued: “During this tour, The Duchess met with service personnel and their families and she was proud to recognise their service to the country.”

The post then included a sweet quote from the now-Duchess: “I have always had such a profound respect for our nation’s troops and military families. I cannot thank them enough for everything they do for us.”

It’s certainly rare for the royal’s official social accounts to provide such insight into the in-law’s lives, but this goes to show that this day, and indeed paying due respect to veterans is very important to Meghan.

The Sussex Royal Instagram account is a refreshing platform on the social networking app, with the pair often sharing insights into the various charitable causes they are involved with, as well as raising awareness for social issues close to their hearts.

Earlier this month, the pair even used the platform to release unseen footage of Meghan, who had visited London’s Luminary Bakery in secret that week.

The glorious footage shows the Duchess laughing and chatting animatedly with workers and guests who attended the Bakery’s grand opening of a new store in Camden.

It’s clear Meghan was in her element, with the post explaining: “Her Royal Highness was proud to be invited to attend the launch of their second bakery,” before adding that the new Bakery, which is a social enterprise, “will enable the organisation to provide services, support and mentoring for four times the number of women [it currently does]”.

It is understood both Meghan and Harry will now take a short break from their royal duties over the next six weeks, with royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah citing the pair’s decision to take some much needed time out with their son Archie.

It has been reported the pair will visit Los Angeles, where Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland lives, as well as simply just enjoying some time away from the spotlight.
