Home and Away fan favourite James Stewart has left fans gobsmacked after sharing a shirtless snap of himself from the gym to his Instagram.

The actor, 41, currently plays Justin Morgan on the long running Australian soap drama and is known for his fit frame.

His latest picture from the gym however has left his followers in a frenzy, with the father of one revealing just how much time he has to spend in the gym to maintain his athletic frame.

With help from a new fitness regime that James has described as ”one of the hardest things” he’s ever done, the Home and Away star has lost an incredible 12kg from his frame.

James has revealed that he achieved his six pack all on his own, without the help of a personal trainer!

”I was 100kg…now I’m 88kg. I was sluggish, wore baggy shirts and didn’t feel great,” James wrote before adding that his daughter ”inspired” his health kick.

”The thing that got to me the most is I couldn’t keep up with my kid. Now she has trouble keeping up with me!”

James is of course referring to his ten-year-old daughter Scout who he shares with ex fiancé Jessica Marais.

According to James, whilst the extra time in the gym, and a good workout routine helped to whip him into shape, he also had to make several other changes to his lifestyle.

”Put your trainers on and go train! Sounds simple, but it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I’ve done it twice,” he wrote, sharing his advice to anyone wanting to follow in his footsteps.

”As fit as I am physically, it’s my mental fitness that is my favourite benefit. I feel good about myself. A better man, a better husband, a better father,” he finished.

Co-star Matt Evans has also been grinding away in the gym as well.

What’s perhaps even more impressive is the fact that James achieved these results on his own, without the help of a nutritionist, chef or even personal trainer.

James isn’t the only Home and Away star in recent weeks to share an inspiring health update with fans with co-star Matt Evans also taking to his social media to share his health and fitness journey.

The 25-year-old, who plays Theo Poulos in the long running Channel Seven drama series, shared two side by side snaps to show off his impressive ”shred” after eight weeks of intensive workouts with his personal trainer.

”I did a massive bulk last year which then lasted through Christmas, and it was the first time I had ever weighed 90 kg in my life,” he wrote on his social media. ”I am now back at 80kgs where I like to sit.”

Well done guys!
