Amy Shark has been called out on social media for “mum-shaming” a fellow passenger on a recent plane trip.
The Australian Idol judge’s lack of empathy, visible in a TikTok video in which she clearly looks frustrated at being seated near a crying baby, sparking the wrath of fans.
In the since-deleted post, the I Said Hi singer films herself huffing and sighing as the infant cries nearby – not drowned out by her headphones.
She rather sarcastically captioned the video “Yay”.

The comments came thick and fast, with followers slamming her reaction to an unavoidable situation.
“As a mum flying with a baby soon, videos like this just increase anxiety for parents who are already trying their best,” one commentated.
“Damn that’s rude of you,” stated another.
Rather than apologise, the 39-year-old seemingly doubled down in a subsequent video on January 9.
Reacting to the comment, “Um you need to stop,” Amy defiantly declared: “Oh no, babe. I don’t know how to tell you this, but I haven’t even started.”

While she took down the original post, the follow-up remains, with commentators continuing to call out her behaviour.
“I think she realised she was acting more like a baby than the baby in the video,” one suggested of why she removed the offensive video.
On January 13, Amy finally acknowledged her misstep in a TikTok Story.
“I’m so sorry guys, I’m going to f**k up like this my whole life, just so you know,” she reasoned.

“I love mums, I love babies. When you don’t have kids you see a crying baby behind you as a funny situation,” she continued.
“But I know now – not a funny situation at all.”
Some followers have since come out in defence of the star, sharing messages of support.
“She apologised so move on people,” encouraged one.
“I’d feel the same if I was on that plane,” stated another.
