SAS Australia star Simone Holtznagel has hit back at followers who said they were triggered by her recent weight loss.

Earlier this week the 29-year-old model shared two before-and-after photos showing off her slimmed-down body, which she achieved with the help of her personal trainer boyfriend Jono Castano.

However, some of Simone’s fans claimed her transformation photos could trigger those recovering from eating disorders to take drastic measures to stay thin.

“People have commented saying it’s ‘triggering’, and ‘before and after’ [photos] don’t belong in 2022,” Simone said.

“I thought what we weren’t doing in 2022 was commenting on other peoples bodies.”

Simone went on to say she thought she “looked great” both prior to slimming down and after she lost weight.

“One thing I’ll take away from that post is you can’t please everyone. I have been bigger and I’ve been smaller but I was happy in both stages of my life,” she said.

Simone said she isn’t depriving herself and still eats pasta four nights a week.

Simone said she isn’t depriving herself and still eats pasta four nights a week, and enjoys a glass of wine or a cocktail if she feels like it.

She then took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of herself in swimmers with the caption: “Blockin out the haterz.”

Jono publicly praised his girlfriend for her body transformation, saying she had personal training sessions with UFC coach Tony Saad.

“No one ever sees the hard work you put in at the gym @simoneholtznagel they’re always quick to judge you but no result comes from an easy journey,” he commented on Instagram in the wake of Simone’s backlash.

“You still eat your burgers from time to time and and focus on highlighting that we can still enjoy a martini or two or five.”

Simone, who competed on the gruelling third season of SAS Australia earlier this year, has previously said she doesn’t work out like an “athlete” as some fellow models do.

“I know a couple of girls who have done it and they train like all day everyday and I really like a glass of wine and spaghetti,” she said.
