Shannon Noll has showcased his buff new figure to fans on his social media, crediting a strict regime of physical activity and healthy eating as the reason he got ”back in shape.”

The 47-year-old first shot to fame in 2003 as the runner up to the very first season of Australian Idol, missing out on the top spot to Guy Sebastian.

But the fame didn’t stop there, the Orange born singer shooting to the top of the charts with his debut single What About Me, a cover of the 1982 smash hit by Moving Pictures.

In the 20 years since, Shannon has released a number of charting singles, winning six ARIA music award nominations and even starring on the fourth season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Australia in 2018.

Talk about dedication to the gym!

His time in the spotlight hasn’t come without controversy however, the hit maker making headlines for drink driving, assault, drug use and more.

But much to fans’ delight, it seems like Shannon has cleaned up his image (and his body) once and for all.

Posing in a loose muscle singlet, the singer took to his Instagram to share a photo of his bulging biceps at his local gym.

”I’m loving being back in the gym! My body is responding really well,” Shannon wrote.

Flexing in the frame, he then went on to say ”thank goodness’ for ”muscle memory” implying that it had been a while since he had last committed to a workout regime.

”Thanks fitness vending for sending me some great protein! I’m eating heaps of eggs,” he also added.

Shannon shot to fame as the runner of on the first season of Australian Idol way back in 2003. Guy Sebastian took home the crown.

Fans couldn’t believe the muscle that the singer had put on, commenting that he should rename himself to ”swollsie” from his nickname ”nollsie” and ”Mr Shannon Swole!!”.

”Save some protein for the rest of us,” another fan commented.

”Nollsie with the double dinner rollsies,” said another, with the official Budgy Smuggler Instagram account also commenting ”rig city.”

The health update comes just days after ”nollsie” (or should we say ”swollsie”) posted a sweet throwback snap of himself and Guy to commemorate 20 years since the finale of their season of Australian Idol aired.

”20 years ago, it was Guy and I in the Australian Idol Grand Final. But tonight, a new winner was crowned.”’
