Dr Edward Ratush of Soho, NYC is reportedly suing Kurt Cobain’s widow to the tune of $60, 000 (US $48,250). The New York Post quotes that amount as having come via papers filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court last week.
While Courtney, 50, has made no comment, the case raised particular interest as the doctor bills himself as an “addiction psychiatrist” who deals with “opiate dependence and treatment-resistant depression.”
Courtney’s battle with drug addiction has been well-documented. Both she and husband Kurt were addicted to opiates and heroin throughout the early Nineties and the mother-of-one has also had several stints in rehab.
Dr Ratush’s LinkedIn profile states he uses TMS (TransCranial Magnetic Stimulation) as part of his treatment which uses a magnetic field generator to stimulate various parts of the brain.
The damming new claims havesurfaced at the same time as Courtney’s intense relationship with her late husband, Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain, has come under scrutiny yet again, thanks to a recent documentary about their lives, titled Montage of Heck.
