Peta Credlin voted most powerful woman in Australia

The former prime minister's Chief of Staff who has built a career behind the camera, steps in front of it in a shoot with The Australian Women's Weekly.

She’s the woman who has built a career behind the cameras, but this month Peta Credlin steps in front of them for an exclusive photo shoot with The Australian Women’s Weekly.

Tony Abbott’s former Chief of Staff features in The Weekly’s October issue as part of the title’s annual Power List.

Credlin is accompanied by a range of powerful female leaders in politics, business and social reform including Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, Julie Bishop, Tanya Plibersek and Gretel Packer.

The Weekly’s annual Power List – which ranks the country’s top 50 most powerful women – was decided by an esteemed judging panel including Lucy Turnbull, Sue Cato, The Australian’s Clive Mathieson, Crown Limited’s Ann Peacock, Kate Torney, Angelos Frangopoulous and Alex Malley, in association with CPA Australia.

Credlin was voted the top spot by a panel of judges including The Australian editor Clive Mathieson, Australia’s new First Lady Lucy Turnbull and ABC’s outgoing director of news Kate Torney.

Credlin will be speaking at The Weekly’s Women of the Future Awards tonight.

It will be the first time she has spoken at a public event since Tony Abbott was ousted from the top job.
