Lisa Curry has shared a sweet snap of her grandson Taj, diving into a family pool to her Instagram confirming that the swimming genes do indeed run in the family!

Her second grandson, Taj Grant Gruell was born to her daughter Morgan and son in law Ryan in November 2020.

Morgan and Ryan tied the knot in a beach side ceremony in Noosa in 2016 and are already the proud parents to a four year old son called Flynn who Lisa has played a pivotal and hands on role in his upbringing.

”Flynn is just the most adorable child, he’s just amazing,” Lisa told Now to Love of her oldest grandson in 2019.

Since birth, both Flynn and Taj have been water babies, as their respective family members have shared home photos and footage of the boys swimming at the beach, in pools and at swimming lessons.

When he was a baby, Taj took to her Instagram to share videos from Taj’s baby swimming lessons.

”And a little wave to Grannie during swim class,” Lisa sweetly captioned the video in which Taj gleefully recognises Lisa filming from the sidelines.

”Swimming lessons for babies are so important so get them in the water as soon as you can.”

And now, Taj is proving his affinity for the water extends beyond having a float, putting his skills from swim class to good use, showcasing an impressive dive into a home pool, displaying skills far beyond that of other toddlers his age.

So excited by his display, doting grandma Lisa, who is one of Australia’s swimming greats took to her own Instagram to share his exciting achievement with her legions of fans.

”Bring on the 2042 Olympics,” Lisa joked in her caption.

”Great dive for a two year old!! Well done Taj,” she continued.

Lisa herself is now stranger to the water, winning seven gold, two silver and one bronze Commnwealth Games medal, also being the only Australian swimmer to have held Commonwealth and Australian records in every stroke except backstroke.

If Taj were indeed to contend in the 2042 Olympics, he would be competing at the age of 24. But something tells us he will be setting records and continuing the Curry legacy much sooner.
