After taking a well-needed rest from the her radio show, former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie is Nova’s breakfast show Fitzy & Wippa.
In October 2022, Kate announced she would be taking a break from the afternoon radio show Kate, Tim & Joel. In her absence, Australian Idol co-host Rickie-Lee Coulter was filling in.
But it in what was supposed to be temporary has become permanent as it was announced Ricki-Lee is officially replacing Kate and the show will be renamed Rickie-Lee, Tim & Joel.
Kate is jumping ship!

I have so much love for Kate and I’m so happy I’ve been able to help out on the Drive show over the last year,” she said.
“I am pumped to be officially joining the Nova family!”
Meanwhile Kate will be moving to popular breakfast show, Fitzy & Wippa. As of March 13, the show will be renamed Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie.
It has been suspected Kate would be jumping ship for a few weeks after Fitzy & Wippa’s co-host Sarah McGilvray has been absent for two weeks.
Kate previously revealed she is “doing well”.

Kate has revealed she is “doing well” and is “excited for 2023” after mental health struggles. Why Kate needed a break from her “relentless schedule” was revealed after images of her at a private mental health clinic were released.
She then released a statement, commenting that the year had been “incredibly emotionally challenging, as well as a relentless schedule, stress, and a lack of sleep.”
“I came to realise that this had led to an unhealthy reliance on alcohol,” she said on Instagram. “So I decided to use this time to do something positive by getting the help I need from professionals who specialise in this area.”
“As everyone would understand, this is a very big step for me to take.”
While she is seeking professional advice, it seems she has gained another shoulder to lean on during this difficult time after she was spotted getting close with Chevy Black at the beach.
Kate has not confirmed or denied being in a new relationship, however Woman’s Day understands that the two have become close.
“She’s been introduced to the family, including Chevy’s mother and siblings,” a source revealed.
