Dylan Alcott and Chantelle Otten have been one of our favourite couples for years, but we cannot wait to watch this duo grow as they confirm they’ve begun planning for a family.
Between Chantelle, an award winning sexologist and Dylan keeping busy as the Australian of the Year which he has since handed over, there has been no time to settle down.
The pair have been together for over three years.
(Image: Getty)“I can picture having kids with Dyl, it’s something that we talk about all the time,” Chantelle said.
“We’ve been together three and a half years now.
“We have just kept pushing it back because we’re having so much fun and our careers are so busy.”
Back in February, the sexologist started to freeze her eggs in order to preserve healthy eggs for when the couple plan to have children in supposedly two years time.
In June, Chantelle revealed she was undergoing her second round of egg freezing.
Dylan handed over his Australian of the Year title in mid-January 2023.
(Image: Getty)“I’m just doing another round because I want to have them there for when we are ready but also I can donate them afterwards as well,” she expressed on Instagram.
To shed light on the process, the pair have featured in Channel Nine’s, Big Miracles program to help women feel less alone and make more “informed decisions” about fertility.
“As a sexologist, I work a lot with fertility, gynaecology and menstruators,” she revealed on Instagram.
“And I see the daily struggles of people trying to conceive and the added stress that comes with the notion of the ticking biological clock.
“I believe that knowledge is power, and I want to empower other menstruators by sharing my experience and hopefully inspire them to take control of their own fertility journey.”
The decision to freeze Chantelle’s eggs has been “a long time coming”. In early 2022, a close friend revealed to Woman’s Day that the pair wanted to have kids in the near future.
“It’s no secret they both want children, especially now Dylan has retired,” they said.
