Twenty years after they starred together in Muriel’s Wedding, Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths will reunite on stage, as hosts of the G’day USA gala event in Los Angeles.
G'Day USA is the name of a program designed by the Federal government to promote Australian companies and interests in the USA. It honours prominent Australians from film, television, music, sports and culture.
Toni and Rachel, both of whom have had stellar careers since their early days in the classic Muriel's Wedding, will be joined at the vent by Mad Max director George Miller, who is being honoured with a G’Day USA Lifetime Achievement Award, for “his outstanding contribution to Australian creative arts sector and acclaimed global success”.
Actor and director Joel Edgerton will receive an Excellence in Film Award. Qantas Ambassador Hugh Jackman is also expected to make an appearance.
