Jackie Gillies is just weeks away from giving birth to her twins, but the Real Housewives of Melbourne star has opened up about the fears she once held ahead of becoming a new mother.

The 41-year-old and her husband, Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies, announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first babies together after Jackie went through several rounds of IVF.

While counting down the days to their twins’ due date next month, Jackie revealed what she is scared about over first-time motherhood.

“I always had this knowing that I wanted to be a mother but I also had this fear of what that looks like,” she explained.

“Will I be a good mother? Will I be able to give my children everything that they deserve? I was scared, I was fearful. I was fearful of losing who I am as a person emotionally and not being able to do things that I still do with my work?”

Jackie admitted she was once fearful that having kids would impact her hectic work schedule as a high-profile professional psychic.

“You come to learn that toy can have everything that you want, but not all at the same time,” she said.

Jackie has taken her 130,000 Instagram followers along for her pregnancy journey, regularly sharing bump photos and updates.

The reality TV favourite announced in May this year that she and Ben were expecting twins due in November.

“I’m having TWINS! It has been a bumpy IVF journey but all worth it,” she shared at the time.

Tapping into her extraordinary psychic powers, Jackie said a premonition from her grandmother told her she would be become pregnant with twins.

“I actually dreamt my passed away grandmother came to me and said ‘you’re going to have twins’,” she told The Herald Sun earlier this year.

Jackie admitted she was once fearful that having kids would impact her hectic work schedule as a renowned psychic/medium.

“And then look at us, here we are. It’s still a shock to be frank, we’ve been trying for so long, nearly two years. It’s been a long process.”

Jackie has always been candid about her struggles with fertility, and revealed she went through seven rounds of IVF, egg retrieval and transfers.

“A lot of ups and downs and it’s been emotionally challenging but to get to where we’ve got to has been so rewarding. You’ve got to keep pushing forward and having faith,” she said.

“There were times where my faith was completely and utterly tested, I won’t deny that. There were times I cried, saying ‘why is this happening?’, ‘am I meant to be a mother?’, ‘is this ever going to happen?’.”
