Actress Melissa McCarthy has revealed that several top fashion designers declined to dress her for the Oscars in 2012 despite being nominated.
“Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me,” the star of Mike and Molly and Bridesmaids told Redbook in their July issue.
“I asked five or six designers — very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people — and they all said no.”
The 43-year-old actress also explained why she felt the need to start a line of plus-size clothing.
“When I go shopping, most of the time I’m disappointed,” she said.
