The 75th Golden Globe Awards are off to a seriously glamorous start with Hollywood's elite sparkling their way down the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

Comedian and Late Night star Seth Meyers has stepped up as this year's host, taking over from Jimmy Fallon who was last year's leading man.

Nicole Kidman's powerful portrayal as Celeste in HBO's Big Little Lies, which has just been confirmed for a second season, has already seen her walk away with the best actress in a mini-series or TV movie award.
Meanwhile, our hearts melted when actress Catherine Zeta-Jones took to the stage with her 101-year-old father-in-law Kirk Douglas to present an award.
With so many award ceremonies about to kick off, you might be asking yourself what are the Golden Globes? Well, The Golden Globes honour the best talent in film and TV and are voted for by a top-secret panel made up on industry experts and journalists selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
They are considered the precursor to the Academy Awards and a good indication of who will take home the Oscar.
