It would be safe to say Duchess Catherine is well and truly enjoying the English summer.

The 38-year-old royal has been getting out and about in the UK by attending various engagements (all appropriately socially distanced, of course) after three months of lockdown.

Considering they were in the midst of wintry weather in the early stages of the pandemic, we can only image how much the royals (and their British counterparts) have been itching to get out in the sun.

And if the latest royal engagement is anything to go by, we’d say they’ve found their happy medium.

Attending an outdoor engagement alongside representatives from emergency response organisations, Duchess Catherine and husband Prince William looked to be in peak summer mode as they chatted to their surprise guests.

Kensington Palace confirmed the pair met with four representatives this week to discuss a new initiative that will help to provide mental health support for frontline workers.

The pair’s Royal Foundation has announced a whopping AUD $3.2 million cash injection into mental health support for their respective sectors, including individual grief trauma counselling and peer-to-peer support.

The grants have been made to ten leading charities “at the heart of mental health and frontline support”, the Palace explained in an official statement.

It will help to “build on the work that the Foundation has already done in recent months to support those on the frontline of the pandemic in the UK, and the mental health sector”

The royals have partnered with the NHS England as part of the support package, which will help over 250,000 emergency responders with resources and a full mental health support programme.

Kate told guests at the event: “Over recent months we have all been in awe of the incredible work that frontline staff and emergency responders have been doing in response to COVID-19, but we know that for many of them, their families, and for thousands of others across the UK, the pandemic will have a lasting impact on their mental health.”

Meanwhile, Prince William told them: “It’s great to hear how The Royal Foundation is supporting you and many others to build resilience and give you the networks you need through its COVID-19 Response Fund, which will help ten leading charities continue their crucial work.”

The Duke and Duchess’s support package will benefit over 250,000 frontline workers.

For the occasion, Kate wore a gorgeous white shirt dress, which featured a subtle print and short sleeves.

The knee-length design was the ultimate summer look, and offset her honey-coloured tresses to perfection.

Kate was absolutely glowing for the occasion.
