Liz from The Bachelor Australia is glad she was honest about not wanting kids

She delivered a baby bombshell to the very clucky Matty J.

Matty chose Jen over Liz.

Bachelor Matty has made it clear he is the cluckiest man in the country, so when Liz said she didn’t want kids, it was a dating dealbreaker.

But the 31-year-old doesn’t regret letting Matty know her thoughts on children, telling TV WEEK: “You’ve got to be honest with people about where your head’s at. I did say to him

‘It’s not that I said never, but I just haven’t met the right person who’s made me change my mind.’”

“Kids just haven’t been in my life plan. I don’t think it’s a bad thing [that I was honest]. If that’s the reason why he didn’t give me a rose then we probably weren’t compatible to begin with anyway.”

It didn’t help that Liz had to share her Matty time with resident “mean girl” Jen on a two-on-one date.

“Obviously it’s not an ideal situation. But I tried not to give a lot of thought to Jen even though she was there.”

The pair butted heads at the very first cocktail party, when Jen overheard Liz describing her white frock as “putrid”.

Liz tells TV WEEK she was definitely talking about the mud along the hemline, not the dress itself.

“I can say, hand on my heart, that I was referring to how dirty it was,” she insists. “I’ve spoken to Lucy from wardrobe about it since and even she said: ‘It was putrid! I had to take it to the dry cleaner’s as soon as she took it off!’”

“I’m very articulate, so if I felt that it was anything other than dirty I’d be quite fine with stating that too,” Liz adds with a laugh.

Jen, 27, refused to accept the explanation and appeared to hold a grudge against Liz.

“I do think Jen seized the opportunity to ruffle feathers, but that’s just the person Jen is,” Liz explains.

The property executive says she hopes Matty can see Jen’s true nature.

“I don’t know if he realises [what she is like]. I feel like he’s probably perceptive enough to pick up on certain cues.”

Liz believes Laura and Lisa will be the final two, saying: “I’d place them at a 50/50 at this stage.”

“I don’t think Jen will win it, but if she was really his person, then genuinely good luck. There’s no animosity there,” she says.
