Could season four of Twin Peaks already be on the way?

Could the reboot of the cult classic result in more seasons?

Twin Peaks fans, settle in for a lot more coffee and cherry pie!

Star Sherilyn Fenn believes that if the current season is a success, creator David Lynch will do more.

“I know David ended up having so much fun doing it,” she tells TV WEEK. “He was like, ‘Oh, I had such a good time.’ He loved it!

“I think if people really like it, if it was what they called a success, I think he would do more.”

The third season of Twin Peaks, premiering May 22 on Stan, comes 26 years after the second season finished.

Sherilyn plays Audrey Horne, who, in the first two seasons, was a flirtatious, trouble-making schoolgirl.

Audrey became legendary for a scene where she tied a knot in a cherry stem with her tongue.

But Sherilyn admits she didn’t think much of the scene when she originally filmed it.

“Mark Frost directed that episode, and he said that this is what they do at big parties at colleges,” she remembers. “I didn’t go to college, and I thought it was silly and ridiculous. But we did it.”

Sherilyn says at the time, she couldn’t tie a knot with a tongue for real. But later, she learnt to.

“Me and my manager were in New York, after the first season, and we both got locked out of our hotel rooms in our PJs,” she remembers with a laugh. “We went down to the bar to wait for them to give us our keys, and then we learned how to tie cherry stems.”

Sherilyn is heading to Australia soon, for Oz Comic-Con in Melbourne on July 1-2. She admits she was initially “very nervous” about meeting fans at conventions, but has ended up making friends through it.

“Sometimes people are quite insightful into you, your character, the shows, different things,” she says. “I’ve met some just normal, cool, good people.”
