The Block’s Ronnie and Georgia tell Elyse and Josh to pay up

Ronnie and Georgia want their money…now!

It was the week one incident that caused neighbour battle lines to be drawn, and it’s still a sore point between the two teams.

When Ronnie and Georgia won the 48-hour challenge on The Block, they were allowed to deduct money from another team.

Since Josh and Elyse came second, they made the strategic choice to target them as they considered them their biggest threat.

However since then Ronnie, 41, and Georgia, 33, haven’t received the $8700 cash that Josh and Elyse need to hand over.

“We gave them an invoice and I’m going to be pass it on to a debt collector if we don’t get it,” Ronnie says.

“We’ll get that money back. We need it so we can put a deposit down on a pool.”

As for why they’re dragging their heels with handing over the cash, Elyse says it was just an accounting issue.

“I don’t pay anything without an invoice, and they wrote out an invoice without any bank details,” she says.

It doesn’t sound like these neighbours are going to kiss and make-up anytime soon!

Speaking of money woes, host Scott Cam is fed up with the contestants and their lack of budgeting.

Already Melbourne couple Jason and Sarah has run in to financial struggles due to overspending and the 54-year-old has had enough.

They’ve also faced criticism they don’t do enough work early in the week during their build.

“Like we give them a lot of money and they get a lot of vouchers. You’ve got 12 rooms to renovate, divide it up and don’t spend anymore.”

Sarah admits their spending has already gotten away from them.

“You don’t really take in to account how much trades are costing you when you’re so busy and occupied with things and trying to get a design sorted,” she says.

“Initially we haven’t used enough of our sponsors for things and we’ve spent too much of our cash, plus our trades have been very expensive.”

However it seems like Scott’s concern that they need to stop spending isn’t really being heeded.

This week Sarah orders expensive wallpaper from overseas for their kid’s bedroom. Will the pricey purchase pay off and result in a room win though?
