This is the number one hotel in the world

They're calling it a life changing experience.

One of the main components of planning any trip is trying to select (and then all agree) on a place to stay.
Do you go for a hostel? An Airbnb? A hotel?
What about one of the best hotels in the world?
Travel and Leisure magazine are known and respected for their Top 100 Awards, collated from information crowd sourced from the mags 4.5 million readers. Their list of Top 100 Hotels reveals that we Aussie don't have to travel too far to experience the height of luxury that is the number one hotel in the world.
Each of the hotels was ranked based on votes for their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.
Australia only had two hotels make it into the top 100: number 53. The Louise, Barossa Valley, Australia and number 47. Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island, Australia, respectively.

The top 10 hotels in the world

1. Nihi Sumba Island (formerly Nihiwatu), Indonesia

Coming in at number one (for the second year in a row) is Nihi , an eco-friendly resort on the Indonesian island of Sumba, 400km East of Bali. Just a hop and skip for all of those Australians wanting to experience some of this next level luxury.
The hotel describes itself as a "life-changing experience on the Edge of Wildness," and travelers clearly all agree with the hotel receiving a score of almost 100% satisfaction.

Yep, we're not at all surprised this place took out the number one spot.
There are 11 different rooms and villas to experience on the resort, with prices ranging from $17,619.53 per night for a five bedroom estate to $932.25 per night for a one bedroom villa.
Luxury doesn't come cheap, but your stay will include:
  • All meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning/afternoon snacks and all non-alcoholic beverages
  • Wi-Fi Internet
  • Mini Bar (1 full re-stock per day, including beers and spirits)
  • Laundry (NB dry cleaning is not available at the resort)
  • Scheduled excursions & activities on land: trips to Sumba Foundation Projects
  • Activities by sea: stand-up paddle boarding and snorkelling around Nihi Sumba Island beach (when weather conditions permit)
  • All guests can participate in our scheduled group yoga & meditation classes at the Yoga Pavilion
A minimum stay of 3 nights is required all year round and children aged 5 & under are complimentary.
